On Soulmates: One

On Soulmates: One

A Poem by Lyssie Perkins
"

This is a past life poem about my soulmate, who I spent just a moment with in this life. We were destined to be merely friends in this incarnation.

"

if i had but forever and a day
to play in the curtains of your dark hair
and say the words i dearly long to say
the universe would, then, be kind and fair
and though, in this life, i cannot be there
not intimately, as i once was before
in that behind veil time without any care
still, i say i could not love thee more
even in years of a thousand score
so, in silent moments, i softly sing
of times we spent, those times of yore
and weep of what this world can never bring
though lifetimes have passed, i can still feel your arms
though eons ago, i remember your charms

Memories of a love, once so long ago,can be brought back into today,as if it happened only yesturday,
or an eternity ago,as time stands still,in the calming face of fond memories and past dreams...
Nice work on this one,I Like I Like...
