The Waves

Have you ever find yourself lost in the beauty and danger of the ocean? Photo:

One day, I found myself by the shore,

And you were there,

Holding out your hand for me to hold;

Urging me to join you in the water.

I took steps toward you,

Unsure whether to dive into the ocean,

And let myself fall,

Or go along the waves with you.

One more step,

And I'd be able to hold your hand,

But a huge wave crashed into me,

Sending me back to the shore.

I tried once more,

And took steps toward you,

Unsure whether to dive into the ocean,

And let myself fall,

Or go along the waves with you.

And I'd be able to hold your hand,

But another wave crashed into me.

Frightened, I went back to the shore.

As the ocean calmed down,

I saw you there,

Still holding out your hand for me to hold.

So, I tried once more,

And took steps toward you.

Then, I was sure I want to dive into the ocean,

And let myself fall,

Or go along the waves with you.

One more step,

And I'd be able to hold your hand,

But you lowered your hand,

And turned your back against me,

Tired of how I was amazed by the ocean,

Yet afraid of the rage it could throw at me.

So, I went back to the shore,

Hoping and waiting to see someone,

Someone who'd patiently wait for me,

Until I'm ready to dive into the ocean,

And let myself fall,

Or go along the waves with him.
