Nobody Allowed Near The Labs While She's In There

Nobody Allowed Near The Labs While She's In There

A Poem by Marie A. Maya

Therapists pump happiness through your veins
if you show one ounce of pain in your eyes.

Parents take your door away
when all you want is to keep the demons out.

Smilles are easier to fake rather than
opening up like a book to someone who's just curious.

Bleach scrubbed rooms and whte lights
are all you'll see if you crave sharp edges.

And death is the only option when life
gives you rotten apples instead of lemons.

Fake friends and loved ones will come
to proclaim how they never knew it was this bad,

when all along it was written on your skin.
