Loop

Loop

A Poem by Rachel
"

repetition

"

No quiet in my head tonight. This song won't leave me alone. I can't even write this without hearing the music. Every word that comes out is set to the rhythm in my ears.

I have tried everything. I have listened to everything else that I can think of, but nothing helps. Sometimes music is too catchy for its own good.

No lyrics anymore. All that stays are oohs and lahs and other non-words whose broken repetitions keep sounding on the turntable in my consciousness.

It will stay there until I finally find sleep, sometime before dawn brings the new day. The loop will permeate my subconscious, becoming a soundtrack to my dreams.

In the morning, a new song will play, and the whole cycle will begin again, never ending, never quiet.

And so are the days of our life.......smiles
I hate that when a song gets stuck in your head.
When its a bad song is even worse.
I loved this Rachel very funny and a great write.
Thanks for sharing.

I laughed as I read the end. I've woken up mental singing a Old Western song before. *smile*
You've expressed this dilemma very well.
I believe many can relate.
