Stitch

Stitch

A Poem by Rachel Landes

Keep asking why
We walk in circles
And then ask why
We end up nowhere

Keep asking why
I build buildings
So I can scrape the sky
And go somewhere

So many questions
Which is the answer
Are we too stupid
To realize we are stupid

Know we know nothing
And that nothing is worth knowing
If we are not worth knowing
And it is no good

On fire and my question is
Why we don’t feel the flames
When we can see the burns
In the creeping water

Questioning is the answer
To the question
This life is lived for an afterlife
When we can be alive

And feel free
And out the box
Of time and space
A life lived alive

Eyes open
Awake at least
Nightmare of dreams
Now made real

And now we have made it
We can throw off the curse
Of clothing worn in the cold
And summer can

Stay Forever
