Depression

have you ever heard

about a thing called depression

gather 'round let me

teach you a lesson

 

you cry alot

or maybe not at all

you can hold in all your emotions

or let the tears fall

 

you slit your wrists

to cause yourself pain

cutting and cutting

again and again

 

often times

people make fun of you

you believe what they say

and you dont know what to do

 

you withdrawl from

your family and friends

sometimes you wish

your life would end

 

trust me

ive been there done that

i fought thru and won

thats a fact

heh same here...been there done that but don't think I'm winning. Very good though, definately hit a spot. I understand the cutting, not that I condone it. And I don't know you but I'm always good for an open ear or a shoulder if nothing else. Its really hard for people who don't suffer from depression, to understand it.

Wow, you did a great job at conveying what depression, is,, most of us if not all have been there at some point. i know i have i did the whole slitting my wrists with drawing from everyone , then turning my life around. This poem is like exactly what i have been through, thanx so much for sharing!

didn't cut myself but i've been in depression. Yeah I was the bottled up. You pretty much nailed depression on the head. this is the kind of poem that makes people relate to and want to give their own experiences instead of a review not that its a bad thing, quite the opposite. It's a helpful poem. good job
