Death at a funeral

Death at a funeral

A Poem by Jimmy H

Six feet deep into the hollow soil
Lowering the coufin inch by inch
Her feelings inside in such turmoil
For his hand she can no longer clinch

The sensation slowly climbs from deep within
Creeping steadily into each bone
Trying earnestly not to let the monster win
Consciously knowing his struggle is gone

Her eyes swell with a fountain of tears

Years and years of ups and downs
No longer concerned with her foolish fears
Now her lover, her mate is not around

Emotions, unbearable pain fills her being
If only she could replace his fate
To give him one more day of living
But no more forgivness on the solemn date
