The Eyes We Once Knew

The Eyes We Once Knew

A Poem by Rain W. Shine

You may not remember
But I do.

Memories never faded
For me…

We never REALLY said goodbye.

And that is why
When we both look up to the sky
We lie…

Reminiscent are all the star-lit kisses
You left for me

Just so I could feel the pain
Of this dance
With another soul
That isn't yours
Everafter…

Nimble swiftness I claim to rapture
Within my masculine pride.

But tonight
The skies themselves
Do Not lie
Back to me…

Can you not see
That there is no end to the sea
Of my love?

Two doves don't simply lose flight
Amongst eachother…

One another
Smother
With faith
Of the hope
Of the love

That we once knew
Amongst a star-lit dance
Of our eyes
Locked on eachother…
