i've been spending so long

wondering how to belong,

waiting for our eyes to meet

for two hearts to beat

together to the same song

never been able to find my place

to me life has only ever been a race,

i want to find the one

i can only live once

live to find the perfect embrace

oh, i've learned to not listen

to the words that shine and glisten,

for there's always a hidden story

something that's left unsaid

but some things written are better left unread

and i think i'm finally

going to give up and just be me,

open my eyes and find

the world i left behind

and see who it is that i want to be
