Tanka

A Poem by Rakhsharimaya
"

I am adding few of my Tanka together. Each of them are separate poems just coordinated under one title.

"
# Prompt: Remembering the place where something started:

Autumn sky
Blue ocean
Two people standing
Missing heart beats
Promises to keep.

# Prompt: Remembering the place where something started:

The puja that year
Amid festive shakharibazar
Millions celebrating Durga
While two pairs of eyes busy
Finding each other.

# Prompt: climbing tree

Our big ancestral home
Mother takes her afternoon nap
I secretly crawl out of the bed
Hanging my legs down from the tree
Having a little guava alone.

# Prompt: climbing tree

Bruised and injured
Almost everyday
A cut here and a cut there
Trying to get down from a tree
I miss being naughty!!

# Celebration:

Fresh jasmine in the vase
Spiced chicken and yellow rice
Rice pudding and vermicelli
New clothes on everyone

Let celebration begin!!!

#life of objects:

cluttered toys all over the carpet
anthology of poetry lies in bed
a tea cup, a rocking chair, a mirror
that fragrance, a face
is what the life is made of….

#catching up with myself

Early morning sunbeam splashes
on the clustered bed we sleep
the tall tree from neighbor's house peep
alone awake and husband sleeping
with myself I do a little talking.

# music and words

Let the memory be mine
All the music played
All the words spoken
Walking by your side
Saving my last dance for heaven.

# lonely sparrow

I have heard him chirping
sitting at the grill of my balcony
on a lonely summer noon
as if he was singing out his sorrow
a tired lonely sparrow…

# Missing you

Missed you all day
The wind blew without your scent
Didnt see a silhouette that resembles yours
What an empty barren day it was
Me and waiting more…

---------------------

Little pleasures in life
Sunshine on my window
A surprise kiss
Jasmine in the garden
Give joy unbound.

""""

I am waiting for you
I know you are coming
May be not as yourself
May be as someone else
But I know you will, Che.

""""""

My lusty eyes dont ignite magic
My presence doesnt light fire
I have been pushed to my limit.
The knives are out for me
For the burning desire!!

""""

how did mom smile
when she saw me first
was it joy with pearl drops
she smiles at me perhaps
the same way now

"""

October 10 # scents of childhood

Beautiful rainy morning
Dark clouds and heavy wind
Clean greens and wet soil
Age old rusty smell
Childhood rain beckons

October 10 # scents of childhood 2

Childhood remembered
Lentil rice called ‘khichuri’
Spicy curry beef
Thats how a rainy day
Smelled usually

""""""-

#seedpods from trees

The mother Basil
Bloomed in lavish green
Died in winter
spreading seeds around
new ones world bound….

"""""""

Coffee brewing
Devil’s tree from window
Sausages and poached egg
Lonely morning
On your face the sun glow!!

"""""""-

Have you ever wondered
Waiting outside a labour room
Waiting for a tiny little face
Living together is beautiful
Tears of joy and sorrow!!
