Daughter, I am sorryA Poem by Ryan D.I wrote this with my future daughter in mind (I have no kids at the moment), kind of an "informative" poem of what she may expect in life.
This started before me
and will end after you. But it will end and until then follow these instructions. Trust no one, even the ones you trust. They have a better chance to hurt you, because a glace can make you abandon your stance and to their tune you will dance. And if you wed, if you so desire, that man for who you aspire can on a whim change his attire and make your life nothing but dire. Sweet daughter, I am sorry. You will inherit a world that conspires against one so fair, with so much flair, they will put you in a hole, cast you into a role of servitude, and expect nothing but gratitude.
