keep the light off

keep the light off

A Poem by Raperle

You're begging the moon; it won't take u on board

You're stuck right here like the rest of us

The war has already started, so grab your sword

And remember these words: love and trust

You're faking a feeling; you're not the only one

There are hundreds of masks around you

You're telling yourself: at least I'm having fun

Don't forget that they're having fun too

Keep the light off, don't look in the mirror

You'll only hit upon a shadow on the floor

Or definitely a little child living in horror

Young, but its death is knocking on the door

Running to other places, seeking your lost soul

It's right where you left your loved ones

You'll continue searching until your hair fall

You abandoned them, what's done is done

You forgot all colors but the one of white flags

Your sword of truth is somewhere inaccessible

Can't feel what you see, your feeling are in a bag

In the illusions' sea, where nothing is restorable

Keep the light off, don't look in the mirror

You'll only hit upon a shadow on the floor

Or definitely a little child living in horror

Young, but its death is knocking on the door

Hope is still here, hiding till you struggle for it

Go back where the sun used to visit your life

Build walls to stop hate, be ready when fears hit

Only then you'll find peace and become alive
