The Paper King

The Paper King

A Poem by C.L. Wilson
"

Yeah I'm a little angry with the values of our country so I wrote this as vent. It might sound ridiculous but oh well.... It's a vent

"

Why is money so strong?

If it gives those who hurt strength

Than why do we live by this measure?

The more we have the more we give?

Yeah right

I see only pain and misery being given

And money only lets those born with strength

Gain power and make the weak grow jealous

The weak must be defended

Here me out my nation!

Why do we follow paper?

Do we seek such empty power?

They only have the image of great men

Money is no man of history

Nor does it have the honor

Yes we need money

But let us knock it off its podium

I do not want to see it reign any more!

I totally agree! Money is the root of all evil. Nice way of putting it, though: "The Paper King." I like that! Nice work, C.L.
