Destruction

Destruction

A Poem by ...

I wAnt you to tell me to let go
And just hold onto you
To step over the edge with my eyes open
And collide with the inevitable
I want to see what the destruction
Of the memories I tried to forget
That rise up as I soar closer
Not to break my fall
But engulf me and consume me
So that this is all that's left
You and me and what we used to be
All we wish we could become
An implosion of emotion
The wreckage laying our worlds to waste
So that we are all that is left standing
Our wings broken and blackened
We no longer soar
But fall to the depths of our deceit
I want you to pull me down with you
With no regard for the casualties
Because all that exists within you
Is me
