Mortal affliction

Mortal affliction

A Poem by ...

You remind me of my broken promises
The pledges I could not keep
I try to escape the disparaging truth
That these lies now run too deep

Slow is the descent of my worth to ruin
As we are are ever spiraling
A discordance of broken forewarning
We do not heed but risk everything

Easily betrayal becomes our nature
In each other we dismantle our fortitude
In disposition to destroy we escape
And descend into moral turpitude

The delinquency of what we are
Manifests as we proceed to fall
We acquiesce to this mutual contention
For what is left when we have nothing at all
