darkness

darkness

A Poem by rayofdarkness
"

a drabble about the tendrils of the dark

"

The light burns your skin,

The darkness cools and clams your soul.

The voices scare you into the light,

Though it burns it is welcoming until,

You are persuaded back to the dark.

It welcomes you home,

Welcomes you back,

It whispers your name,

Then is talks to you in insults.

Suddenly it’s screaming at you,

But yet it is still home,

And the light still burns,

Still hurts you.

So you stay in the darkness,

Listen to them scream the violent attacks,

Because the darkness is your home now.

It whispers ‘you can never leave’

But you don’t want to

You are nothing without the darkness.

You don’t know how to live in the light.
