Legless

Legless

A Poem by Matthew

She’s running away from the pain again
I see she is still blind to the emotion set on the table
The feelings will never be healed, but my motives won’t remain clear
The sound of the wheels still roll on down the road

I find myself not asking why tonight
The kisses felt empty and hollow
Like a lost memory in the dust of the past
The headlights illuminate the dreadful intentions, the mind will never heal

Running legless down a gravel road
The sockets can’t help but rust
Water no longer heals, it just causes pain
Father, why have you forgotten about her so soon?

She’s running away from the pain again
The table now lays in ruins, from years of weight
The feelings shall never be clear, but my motives still remain the same
The car now lays in ruins, from abuse long forgotten

"The sockets can't help but rust" DAMN I like that alot. This is really good Matt. "Running legless down a gravel road" alot of pain/misery is what I got outta that. Clever wording man, awesome. Gonna shelve this one. Well done.
