My Vampire

My Vampire

A Poem by Rebecca

Broken hearted,

Friends departing,

Things are turning for the worse,

My mind's engolfed by this curse.

People talking to me,

Inside and out.

I don't just hear things, I see,

I will not pout.

Little girl in my head.

Wishes she was dead,

I will not let that be so.

Her life's running short,

Since he did deport.

She wants the pain to go.

She wants him to return.

But he's not coming back..

Little girl, please take cover.

Please know that I will hover

Over you.

Protect you from the thing's you'll do.

Run away, little girl,

Into the heart of your former self,

Go hide from this world,

Your vampire's here to help.

I'll live the life you wish away.

Life's too good to put at bay,

You hate yourself, I blame the guy

Who's not good to you, who wasted your time.

But then again you loved him..

You'd give your life to see his smile.

I know the love wasn't just skin deep,

You loved him for a while.

But look what he did to you,

He split your heart in two.

Was it worth it?

I know you'll it was,

You'll say it's worth every drop of blood

That you did spill for him.

But little girl, you're not a dove,

You can't fly away from danger,

Just remember what I tell you, love.

I'm no longer, just a stranger.

Author's Note

Rebecca
It's a little hard to just understand. Basically a conversation between a girl and her internal vampire, I separated the two as best as I could, but when you read it enough times you can tell who's who.

Wow, beautifully written, well worded. You tried to separate the two but the way I got it was that she was talking to a vampire and not her internal one. Like the 'he' vampire was offering her more than what the love of her life could.

Its simple to see the conversation splitting. The tone takes one a more persuasive tone. A great piece, magnificent actually.
