In The Shadows

In The Shadows

A Poem by Rebecca

Sitting in the shadows,

Hands over my eyes.

Why is no one coming?

Why are they letting me live this lie?

I'm waiting, and waiting.

Just waiting for someone to come.

And I'll keep waiting

And waiting,

Until I'm dead and numb.

This corner's cold,

This corner's dark,

I've never felt so alone.

This corner scares me,

This corner's fearful,

Straight down to the bone.

Help me, help me.

That's all I can seem to say.

Help me, help me.

I guess I'm just a stray,

Left alone to die

In this shallow misery.

Help me, help me,

Don't leave me in this empty sea,

Nothing matter's anymore..

I'm waking up

One last time,

So much sorrow

On my mind.

I know now, I don't have time.

I might as well end it all.

And prepare myself to fall.

Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye cruel world,

Partings no sorrow to me.

Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye cruel world,

Maybe one day, you will see

What you let die and what past could be.

Too late now, you let go.

I was striked by all my foes,

And now we can't be together..

And I will fall forever..

Wow very dark and intense... I can actually see this as a homeless person or someone living with extreme paranoia... no matter what it was a wonderfully written piece.

this is an exteremly powerful poem that shakes you to the core. I really felt the fear and desperation in the piece. Terrific write C-:
