Fire to Ash

Fire to Ash

A Poem by redhors

There’s a fire burning deep inside my heart.

It’s an aching, dull pain that doesn’t ever want to leave

Unless I’m with you.

The embers flutter to life when I think of your name,

Your touch awakens the flames like a blacksmith’s bellows.

They leap and consume me as we embrace

But after, I am ash.

Oh man that's impressive. When you can feel it or relive that feeling while or by way of reading the words thats some powerful stuff. I felt it while I read it. Keep up the good work.

This is a gorgeous write! It flows quite elegantly and really gives a vivid image of something that we can feel but can't see, but the words seem to make it possible to see it easily. It really is beautiful, well done!

This is beautiful. "A pain that doesn't want to leave unless I am with you."
'Your name makes the embers flutter to life.'
Beautifully written.
