IT’S SIMPLE, REALLY

 

Rain,

swishing off the windshield

sets a tone this evening.

A simple project

contemplated;

yet a maze must be

navigated,

in order to take the first steps.

Add 3;

subtract 2.

Then walk around the block.

After the light turns green

4 times

proceed

to the house on the left.

Then repeat.

Just for fun,

go back to where you begun.

Good lawdy

You’d think we was bawdy.

But you know it’s even worse

we be plottin’

we be plannin’

revolution.

Oh yes,

A sun shining thru that windshield,

Catch me smilin’

revolution.

So, as many who have come before,

firing up those U. Railroad engines,

we be plottin’,

we be plannin’

and walking around the block

right under their noses

Cause lawdy;

we be…

we be…

we be smilin’

cause, after all that walkin’

contemplation time is up!
