Need You Now (Poem #14)

There is a saying:

“Eternity

is where true love lives.”

I like the sound

and feel of these words

as they smoothly

roll off my tongue.

“True Love”, like a rose,

is beautiful, sweet, yet,

its thorns prick,

and is also a bloody mess.

But what goes through my mind

is, “I am all alone

and I need you now.”

I've always liked this song. But it doesn't have to be a quarter after one for a person to need another. I think we all need to be needed and want to be wanted. No matter if love stings like a bee...as Dickinson wrote....we all want it. If there is true love in eternity then it must be a wonderful place....but does it exist? Ah, a question for the ages.
