Zat You Santa Clause

Zat You Santa Clause

Zat You Santa Claus?

Yuletide is upon us,

‘tis the season’

as they say.

Oh goodie!

Yes, that’s sarcasm,

with a big

joy to the fucken world

added in.

They tell us, it’s time

for family,

traditions,

caroling, presents,

and merriment.

Of course it’s commercial,

everything is commercial

in spite of sappy,

Hallmark formulistic movies

preaching Christmas is all about god

and love

and sharing.

But, here in ghetto wherever land,

the silent noise of night;

shattered by

the whoop, whoop, whoop sounds

of helicopters and drones

entice the children to ask,

“zat you Santa Claus?”

just before the bomb explodes.

Holy.........now that is a poem! Absolutely hit me like a ton of bricks as the saying goes. Such profundity woven with immense, intense articulation is destined to have a massive impact, there really is nothing to add to this...it says it all, I could envision the innocent hopes and excitement and then the demise of such dreams and deathly chaos...this needs voicing loudly, briliant...

this is heavy....the epiphany is in January...we need an epiphany...we need to wake up...put on a new Santa suit and start loving each other...that is the best present anyone could want.
Christmas has become an exaggeration of wrapping...we need some coal in the stocking..some kind of wake up call.
and it's never Christmas in those really bad neighborhood, where surviving the day is the only gift worth keeping.
