Worse than Cigarettes

Worse than Cigarettes

A Poem by S. Marie

I watch her unclothe you from the window
And it's a long flight back home
I'm in the middle of two countries
Somewhere between the things that we can't reach

I remember the days when you looked at me
And the only thing I saw was lust for me
Time for the weeks to come of hard grief
And I know, And I know

It's a long way down this slippery slope
Don't you know that you're worse for me than
These cigarettes I smoke?
But the way you smile
Keeps me coming back for more
Yes, it's a long way down these roads
But one more time, i'll fall again.
