firewater

firewater

A Poem by Jordan Wolfe
"

Found this in a notebook, wrote it awhile ago. Let me know what you think.

"
industry forged, and tempered in amber waves;
rolling across parched Midwestern landscapes
a fire in the pit of a madman's hearth,
and every night, through the fog and haze of glass, we bear witness to our rebirth
and here we're caught in the glow; it's rosemary dashed along the coastline
fragrant and looming close, a prayer for high tides to wash away the ghosts
gently tugged by the tow, a string of words kept captive by two quotes
"what does it cost to keep a heavy heart afloat?"
