Heavenly Hope

Here is a poem that I hope you can find comfort and hope during this trying times. That also connects to the glory of the Lord:)

Troubled times like these

With news stations and newspapers

All screaming the death count of Covid-19

The chance of catching a brighter day

Peeking its head around the corner

Like a small child playing peek a-boo with grandma and grandpa

Is the size of a mustard seed

One rises in a beam of God’s glorious sun

Praying that today will be the day

The day where Covid-19 cases will come to a halt

The day where hardworking guardians 

Can drop their little ones off at school

With no mask, with no social distancing needed

And then head off to their place of work

Having not an ounce of worry

That their own perfect gift from God

Will not be a victim of a disease

Already having claimed so many

We may like to refrain to admit

But a reality like this is nowhere in sight

But imagine this

Next to the bed where you begin each day

There is a Holy Bible

Feeling so hopeless and lost

You reach for it

Longing so greatly for the words of God

His words have gotten our ancestors

Through storms, through droughts, through plagues

Right now we must drop all of our earthly possessions

We must turn to our Lord

We must place our trust in him

Our trust that one day things will be normal

Our trust that one day we can all gather together

Embracing, singing and rejoicing in the glory of our Lord 

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. - Jeremiah 29:11
