sleep awaits us

sleep awaits us

A Poem by reluctantsyren

Inside the room
Where sleep awaits
It is a quiet, bright lit space
Church bells chime outside
To call the hour
The black cat curls close to me
A purring engine sound of power
The trees are half flocked with golden leaves
Inside we sleep,
Inside we deeply breathe.
