Seven Proposal Killers

Seven Proposal Killers

A Poem by Penny Ellen
"

For Weird Writers Prompts. Nice idea. had to run with it.

"

He picked the perfect day;

Sun shining sublimely,

Picnic in the park,

Romantic idea.

Picked the perfect ring;

Three stones set in platinum,

Two months of paychecks,

Hid the box in a dozen roses

That he handed her

When he took off the blindfold.

She said no.

Told him he was:

Irresponsible

Codependent

Unreliable

Insufficient

Irritable

Unimportant

…And she was gay.
