Lovesick

Lovesick

A Poem by Aehr

Blazing fire in my eyes,

A dagger in my hand

They tried to explain me

But I failed to understand

I bat my eyelashes before them

I try to act well behaved and good

Little do they know, that I'm not like that

It's something I don't do, even though I should

Death is so much quicker

So much easier, than dying slow

His sight is nothing but poison

And it's a harder way to go

He toyed with my heart, and killed it

I was lovesick, and unaware

He lied about being there for me

That he would always love and care

He's a trickster, a wicked soul

You can't really trace his lies

Love is his game, and he's a player

And his talks are his only disguise

He played with my heart for a while

And then he flew off for another one

He tried to play a game with her as well

But I found out before he even begun

Before I burst into tears again

I just want to let you know

That I love you so much

I don't have the courage to let you go

No fire in my eyes

No dagger in my hand

Just salty glistening tears

And I still don't understand

Author's Note

Aehr
This one is more story-like. It's about a girl who falls in love. The guy says that he loves her as well, but turns out to be a trickster and is having another affair with another girl. So this girl (the one who's writing) tries to kill herself. But then she shoves the thought away, and breaks down crying.
Might sound like a vain idea when it's explained, but tell me what you think about it please?

Firstly I added it to my library and then I wrote this. Because I did not want to allow this poem be forgotten by me. I think you wrote something really special here and it reminded me of a poem by a Greek poet named Karyotakis. He is my favorite. I add the link here, maybe you'd like to check it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kostas_Karyotakis. I loved the poem and the way it ends, because many people have experienced such times in their life.

thank you so much. This really, really means a lot. I do appreciate it :D
It's an awesome poem...really flowy, and self explanatory...I really loved the ending, how it's contradictory to the start but with the same feelings...loved it :)

Me too :-P
I like the photo and the poem. Many tricksters in a life. We must be very careful. I like the honest feel of the emotion in the poem. Hard to understand there are more liars then real friends in our world.
"He's a trickster, a wicked soul

No weakness in the excellent poem.

The title is definitely descriptive of the poem. I can almost feel the heartbreak. If I have any advice for you it's to up the language a little bit. The story you tell is solid and moving, but I think it wold be even more effective if the language was a little more eloquent. You have a great base though, just build on it.
