I t's A Beautiful Day

I wake up in the morning, my hair in a mess

To add to my irritation, I can't find my favourite dress

And then there's more good news, my car just broke down

My dog's not doing well, and the vet is out of town

My house is all dirty, everything's on the floor

I need to pay my rent today, or I'll have to walk out the door

It's my sister's birthday, and I haven't got her anything

And the most peculiar thing is my heart still wants to sing

Problems never need a printed invitation

And to their stinky effects, there is no limitation

So why frown, just keep smiling away

Look at the brighter side, it's a beautiful day

I quite like this, I think you could take out a few words here and there (is's and the's and a's...little words)

Somehow I rose out of the mire of pessimism, but I haven't ascended to the heady clouds of optimism.
I'm here, floating between this and that. I envy the optimists for their relentless smiles! I envy the pessimists for their certainty!
