I know you're leaving love, and that you may never return

You may be held there for long, and make me scream and yearn

And I know that it's your job love, and that it's something you must do

I just want you to know, I'll love you until the sky is blue

 

I know that you love me, but I also know that I'll miss you more

And I'm praying for a miracle to keep you from walking out the door

It's a do or die situation, but it's not like I can keep you here

If my conscious would have allowed me, I would have done that dear

 

But I'm really not that selfish, and anyway, it's your life

Of course I know I'll miss you, obviously, I'm your wife!

But you really want to do this; I can see it in your eyes

And keeping you from fulfilling your dream really won't be wise

 

So just stay with me tonight, let me bury my head in your chest

Let me look at you in silence, and sincerely hope for the best

Let our eyes do all the talking, and don’t you slip away from my sight

I know you’re leaving tomorrow, but stay with me tonight

It's about how a man wants to fulfil his dream by doing something that's dangerous, and how his wife knows that she'll miss him, but she doesn't stop him, even though he knows that he may die.

The poem is good, but the spark is missing. Its kinda dull. Your rhymes are good. The story which you are trying to say is being conveyed. But you need to have the spice in it. The readers shouldn't be thinking twice before appreciating it.
