Eyes.

Eyes.

A Poem by Aehr

I wonder how, when people look into your eyes
They see everything not very special
They see-
The normality of the placid browns in your irises
When you don't even realize they're looking
But not the light reflecting a thousand rainbows
When you squint up at the sun
They see-
Nothing, but that your eyes are closed
When you fall asleep
But don't think about the things you're probably seeing
In the dreams playing behind your eyelids
They see-
The way your eyes seem to spit fire when
Rage unsettles your mind
But not the long lashes shielding the secrets
You probably hide everyday

thank you for your review, Carl :)
I don't know I like the title; its plain and simple but I guess I could suggest "Deep within the eyes". This is a great theme for a poem because the eyes are very powerful and have different meanings. Overall, it was well done.

The eyes do tell stories. I have seen yearning eyes, pissed-off eyes and sad eyes. Doesn't matter the color. When we are content. The eyes come alive and can make someone sad and happy. I like your description. Last lines is true. We rarely know the person. All of us hold secrets and regret. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
