From The Dawn

From The Dawn

A Poem by Antonio Valentino

I made you a swing on the moon today
on a branch of a shadow less tree
We could sneak over there perhaps
when the earth blocks the sun
and the tides of wind are just right

I could push you if you promise
to hold on tight, this time
and we could watch our world revolve
as we spin through void's forgotten past
Or, we could take a ride on the merry-go-round
of Jupiter, and look down to where it all began,
and where it all, will never end

I wonder if we ever loved each other before,
and we know it, but we don’t
It could have been a parallel affair of some sort
on some moment less day
when prophecy was a promise
and heartbeat, was our only tongue

The stars in your eyes
melted darkness when I saw them
and it brought an invisible glow
from which cherished memories could be seen,
once again

I think I’m going to start sailing to the edge,
where the ocean drinks the sun,
and jump on
I’ll see you in the morning, hopefully,
from the dawn,
of our tomorrow

"I think I’m going to start sailing to the edge, where the ocean drinks the sun, and jump on" I really embrace this line......what can not be seen through another's eye is the leap of faith we have when we take that jump into something new or unknown! We can always take the easy way & never adventure beyond our own thoughts but when we include another's heart our journey becomes completely new! Start sailing to the edge we find a whole new path & what will become of it will only be that much sweeter when we venture with another!

You have shared the depths of your insights & your heart! When you bring your reader along with you through your journey you capture the hearts of many! Excellent write Antonio!

Well that is my favorite verse too, followed by a close second the the line:
"where the ocean drinks the sun," how cool is that? I just love the sound of that.
Nicely done!

I can see two dancing amongst the heavens - I see it from the moon, for some reason - and it is beautiful. You've given this piece a Greek-God-like feel. I suppose it could be two timeless beings, God and Goddess perhaps, speaking to the other.

Well done,
lilain

I agree with Autumn's child on the favorite verse. Nicely done.

This is my favorite verse, incredibly romantic.

Very nice job on this one. Wording was great, and it flowed pretty well.
