defiant thought

defiant thought

A Poem by dan
"

when horrific thoughts invade one's attempts at normalcy

"

defiant thought

when cutting is an option

calling out loudly to drag me down

the required shame and lack of worth

strikes harshly through my cogent thoughts,

tearing down the rust

to reach the water’s edge.

after the obligatory drowning efforts

make their knowledge useful to no one;

when scrambling the defiant puppets

is to waste the cause, to stand in place,

being drawn through nascent ambitions

to reach the edge of fear.

dusk is creeping near

to free the ties and flee this corrosive

passion play, to end as one,

again too near.
