The Art of Nestbuilding

 

I can see clearly, not all things are well,

But the poet can conjure up something to tell.

Writing a poem is like building a nest,

Strong words and sticks combine for the best.

A stick from a tree can be carried by birds,

But the stick’s often sharpened, like so many words.

My wife and I were watching a shop on National Geographic channel when they showed a bald eagle building a nest. An idea was hatched (pun intended) and I ran to my computer to tap it out. The birth of a poem! The metaphorical angle is the key. Thank you for the read/review! take care...dan
