Them

Them

A Poem by Judy Maxwell
"

My inspiration came, as usual, in the dead of night. I was thinking about my life and my future -- and this poem sort of popped right into my head (or out of it).

"

She's filled with warnings I can't heed
Does experience mean everything --
Or nothing at all?
Do I dare ponder my future
Or does destiny destroy all hope?

In school we're taught to respect
Dirty old perverts --
Do said figures hold the answers?
Do the answers exist at all?
What is the question?

I'm not usually one to write poetry, so keep that in mind when you critique. I'm highly inexperienced.

seems like a good poem to me....articulate, resonant....love the line 'dirty old perverts' BTW. I remember my time in academia...I miss it...
