Poem I wrote while seperated from children

The Heart Of The Matter

                                                                                                                                                

Sitting here my heart’s in tears

Wishing I can change the years

Oh mommy’s angels how I love you so

Wish I could be there to watch you grow

Watch grow, watch you play

Oh how I long to here you say

Mommy do you have to comb our hair today

My hearts in tears, you just can’t see

What this time apart is doing to me

Sometimes I can’t eat and I can’t sleep

Because I’m mommy I sense my babies missing me

Well dry eyes please don’t cry

I need you to understand,

I need you to know why I’m not there

It isn’t because I don’t care

This is something I must do

My heart’s desire is to be a better mother to you

See you deserve the very best me

               The me God created me to be

Who is far more than what you’ve seen

I want us to live, I want us to love

I want us to worship the Lord above

 Together as a family you and me

Yes mommy’s angels there’s a change in me

Especially now that I can see

There’s far more to life than watching TV
