Surviving a Paper Cut That Wasn't So Bad, 'Cause The Paper Was Kinda Pretty

Surviving a Paper Cut That Wasn't So Bad, 'Cause The Paper Was Kinda Pretty

A Poem by Steve B

She's kinda like me
And I really like that about her
I wouldn't call it love, maybe some other
Kind of attraction, where you know
You could spend the rest of your life together
Even though you were still in high school
And she wasn't
I like that she tries, even though she knows she won't like it
And when she's right, she doesn't give up until it's done
I like that she's wrong just as often with my suggestions,
And accepts her new found pleasure with a nod, and a thank you
I find our time hanging out quiet and awkward
Of course, that's because I'm quiet and awkward so it's in no way her fault,
But I enjoy it nonetheless
And she seems to too
Which is pretty cool

I figure nothing will come of this
Kind of attraction, where you know
People will move on without you
And they'll be fine
But you will be too, it just sucks, at the time
So I'll spend the rest of my life,
Occasionally thinking about it
How I was kind of attracted
And she wasn't
And with no pain at a loss I never had,
I'll recall the things I really like about her
How she is like me, kinda
And that's not so bad
