Truth Undaunted

Truth Undaunted

A Poem by Robin
"

Truth: God's promises will always prevail.

"
Deep down, the roots of despair
Rivers raging wild and fierce
Sickness, poverty, injustice all around
Earth shattered into a million pieces like glass beneath my feet?

Truth Undaunted

Life cut short inflicting wounds on those left behind
Close the door don't let me see
Tears of sorrow slicing through flesh
Their marks indeligibly written in my mind.

Truth Undaunted

Untruths spoken by those chosen to lead
Will you listen or take heed
Pull-up your sleeves it's time for battle
Time to let righteousness shine.

Truth- where are you?
Unmovable, unwilling to concede
Undaunted, not giving way to fear
Trudging through life's unending cycles.

Truth- ready to take my place.
I'm ready to take my place.
I'm ready to take my place.

Truth Undaunted.

hmmm, you really capture the importance of "truth", by showing why it's needed in the world. Really loved how you emphasized the importance of truth in such a cruel, deceitful world, where lies are told more than anything else. The closing stanzas sound quite "anthemic", showing that truth (and being truthful) in the world is something that needs to be fought for.
