A DEADLY KIND OF FUN

A DEADLY KIND OF FUN

A Poem by MisterG

li'l jimmy went out to play
he passed a shop and saw guns on display

he went inside and asked
the owner who was fearsome and masked,
''may i have a gun?''
but the owner said they're not for fun

at this, li'l jimmy stormed out of the door
but his evil little head was plotting something more.
"at night i shall break in and steal one
and everyone i shall stun "

so at midnight li'l jimmy jumped from his bed
wearing a beanie on his head

he sneaked up slowly to the shop,
slouching and bending, avoiding the cop.

he broke the glass with a rod of brass,
a little hole allowed him to pass.

excited, he looked at the fine array
of the guns the he loved, so shiny and grey.

he grabbed the deadliest silver beauty
and as he fiddled, a shot rang out through the silent city.

the alarms went crazy and began shrieking out
the police vans scrambled, it was a total rout.

they opened the door to a most terrible sight,
blood and brain lay spattered when they switched on the light.

a young life lay there unravelled, undone
just for a foolish love for some evil looking gun.

so kids, do not try to punch above your weight
leave them guns alone to the police and the state

A fine message here, MisterG....those guns are seriously deadly and they are best left untouched by those who have no business needing them. Your title is quite clever....fun should never be deadly, but in this case it certainly was! This is a fine start to your cafe life. The rhyming is on point and your message is very clear. Keep them coming and you'll keep improving. Much enjoyed! :))

A great message lays here.. putting in gun destruction of life for kids to fear.. and because the boys thoughts not only backfired on him so did his gun! Poor kid .. a warning to other youngsters to behave then no beckoning will be their grave!

sorry for replying so late...😭
Thank you for reading. 😊
I like
The rhyme It read with quite a ring
NEVER point gun loaded or no at your friend or foe
Specially not your self
Leave the guns to soldier boys
They learn not to play with such toys

You are welcome young man
Guns always scare me. I don't trust them. When my mistress cleans her gun you'll always find me under a bed or sofa or out in town. Well written, MisterG.
