Patiently I wait

Patiently I wait

A Story by Robyn Elliott
"

Just a scrap of creative writing, if you can call it that.

"
Patiently I wait, for the clock to strike a godly hour to say I am awake. The birds subtly remind me of the dreaded morn, oh that once hopeful light! Covers tight around me, suffocating my sleep out of me until I sit up and ponder for a while... Why is the sky grey? And to hear no one say...
Anything.
Not a crisp footstep or a walk of shame, no laughter, no crying. Just the silence of my thoughts. Is that good? Is it bad?
There is nothing, but the grey sky and my hopeless thoughts. I peer out the window at chimneys and grey skies and I notice a lone tree swaying on the breeze and I realise we are all swaying trees and grey skies,
and then.
I settle down, I feel heavy and I utter a yawn and gather my dreams to drift to sleep once more.

Beautifully written! It truly makes me fell alone and it's so deep and descriptive. I like how it talks about loneliness being good or bad and not knowing whether it is. "There is nothing, but the grey sky and my hopeless thoughts." I love it!
