I

 

 

I’m a writer,

     I’m a sculptor

          but neither pays the way.

I’m a poor,

     downtrodden artist

          living quietly by the bay.

 People read it,

     and people smile

          at the quirky writing style

and the same with

     my wood and wire

          that looks like a boat on the Nile. 

No matter how,

     or what I do,

          the results are all the same.

No one prints it,

     no one shows it,

          no one wants to play the game.

 So I’ll just go back

     to my place

          by the bay

and write some more,

     sculpt some more

          and have a really nice day.
