The humming bird’s gift

 

A humming bird landed on my shoulder,

It whispered a story in my ear.

 

It told me of how sweet love could be,

If only I opened my heart to hear.

 

Would my heart beat faster I asked.

The humming bird told me it would beat like no other.

 

My blood would burn with passion,

My desires would be hers.

 

Tell me sweet humming bird; do not toy with my heart,

Could my heart find love after being cold for so long?

 

The humming bird smiled and flew off in the wind.

 

As I turn to walk away,

I find you reading what I wrote.

Thank you Robbie. I actually saw 4 humming birds today...normally I would see that many in a years time here. I figured it was a nudge to get me to write about them :)
