Southern respect

Southern respect

A Poem by ron

Southern respect

This is how I was raised…

even though I was raised in Southern California.

Walk down one mile or fifteen miles,

it don’t matter,

as long as you get there.

Neighbors always willing to help you out,

and you help them out,

that’s the way the south is.

Help is all we got with each other.

I know this might be a foreign concept to most,

but baby it’s what gets us all by.

So take your fast cars and tricked out trucks and fancy houses,

but ask yourself…

what would you do for a neighbor that seems like a stranger?
