The Prayer

The Prayer

A Poem by Rosauro Brillantes
"

Inspired by Kid Cudi

"
"My heart thump not from being nervous
Sometimes I'm thinkin God made me special here on purpose
So all the while, 'til I'm gone, make my words important
So if I slip away, if I die today"

The last thing you won't remember won't be some criminal charges
Or a general without his sergeants
And on those nights that I pray - may it be the first or the third
My inner demon will disperse with just my words

With every ten "Hail Mary's" that I recite
Cleanse me from all my sins despite
All my actions commited with all my might
Just know that I am only human

Maybe one day, when I take a sip of water and let it touch my lips
It'll turn to wine from the Holy Spirit or Divine
Until then I'll walk in this valley of shadow and death
And continue on with every step and breath

And on the day I finally rest in peace
I pray I find inner peace to say the least
But until I finally meet Him face-to-face
I'll grind day-to-day until on earth I find my rightful place

This is really great. I love the power of the words, each one seems to mean so much to the speaker. It's very beautifully written, you have a talent, my friend. Keep up the good work!
