The Seven Deadly Sins

The Seven Deadly Sins

A Poem by Sylvia Faff

Wrath Is What Im Called, Little One
Feel The Boil Of A Thousand Suns
Silently, I Sit, Changing My Guise
Waiting For My Time To Arise
I'll Always Be By Your Side
Only To Fade When I Have Won
For I Am Deadly Sin Number One

My Name Is Greed, But You Already Knew
Because I'm Deadly Sin Number Two.
You Crave All You See.
Those Desires You Have all Come From Me.
I'll Shall Take What's Mine, I'll Shall Take What's Not.
No Matter What, I Will Never Stop.
You Will Never Be Satisfied
Because I'm Always By Your Side

Sloth's The Name! But Call Me Lazy.
I Don't Do Much,
But Sometimes Maybe.
I Come And Go, I'm Real Fun.
When I'm Around, Nothing Ever gets Done.
I'm Often torpid, But Don't Be Tricked.
I'm The Sin That's Hard To Kick
And Never Will Succeed
I'm Deadly Sin Number Three

Hmph, You Don't Know Who I Am?
I'm Pride And I'm Simply Great
Some Think I'm Conceited But Im Just A Product Of Fate.
I Am The Best sin.
It's Always A Win When I'm Within .
I Stand Before You, In Plain Sight
Only To Appear When You Succeed.
I'm The Only Thing You Need And More.
I Am The Deadliest, I am Number Four

Why Hello There Sweet
I Am Lust, The Passionate Flame.
I Make Your Knees Weak
I Am What You Crave.
When I Whisper In Your Ear You Cant Behave
I'm The Tongue Down Your Throat
And The Seductive Smell Of Smoke
You Would Be Nothing If Weren't Around.
I'm The Reason You Can Make 'Em Scream Loud.
Without Me, All Won't Survive.
I'm Deadly Sin Number Five

Oh, hello again! Did you miss me?
I'm Envy, But Some Call Me Jealousy.
I'm Always Around But You Tell Everyone I'm Not
Prying Around In Your Mind
Picking At Your Deepest Thoughts.
When Others Succeed, There I Shall Be.
Full Of Discontent And Anger Quite Honestly
These Feelings You Have Can Conflict,
But One Thing Is Certain,
I'm Deadly Sin Number Six.

It's Hard To Reverse The Damage I Do
I'll Clog Up Your System, Red And Blue
I'm Gluttony, And I Aim To Please
I'm The Reason You Are Obese
The Food You Eat Goes To Your Thighs
When I'm Around, In Disguise.
I Am The Last Of The Brethren
Deadly Sin Number Seven.

This is perhaps my favorite poem that I have read in a very long time. I am not just saying that to make you feel better or whatever. If it does, I am happy. I am speaking the honest truth though. This poem is the truth written down and should be read over and over by EVERYONE! I enjoyed reading every single word you have here. I love all the words are capitalized and each sin is color coded. That is a neat idea too. This topic is not easy to write. Now I will have to disagree. The way you presented this poem made it so easy. The way your words flowed so smooth. I cannot say "Well done" enough, Roshan! I just LOVE this. We are ALL guilty of each of these seven deadly sins. Great job from the first and last word. :)

i really like this! i like how you discribed them as people. it actually made me think of people in me making me do bad things. it's really weird but really cool at the same time. mabey it's my mind braching out but this could be a book idea. it would be about the seven sins as people reaking havic on earth but aas time goes on some of them turn into there opposite. the ones that want to stay evil kill the ones that turn good. battles and a fight for human will. bam! i'm such a cat... getting distacted and now i'm not even talking about your poem.... sorry

Your welcome!
Maybe the seven deadly sins are a domino effect. You get one, it leads to another, and another, and another, until you're an angry, greedy, lazy, stuck-up, lustful, jealous, and fat person.
This would explain a lot about modern society.
Thanks for writing this, it really made me think. ;D

Seven deadly sins...yes please! I thought you did this wonderfully!! It flowed musically and the thought you put into it is clear!
"I'll Shall Take What's Mine, I'll Shall Take What's Not."
I think you meant 'I' not 'I'll'
