A Poem by Sylvia Faff

The forbidden fluid
Flows though our thoughts
Washes over our eyes
Soaks into our skin
feel colour
see sounds

black ink separates
Into figments of ourselves
we lull away
As if reality was only
A nightmare
Among dreams

Our pupils shrink
To the size of the earth
Voices of resurgence
Whisper in your ears
As you bathe in midnight
Painting the yellow wallpaper
With landscapes of pleasure
And shades of ecstasy

wake up from the rapture
in desolation
reminded that reality runs on oil
Where water flows thicker than blood

Ink is addictive
We are no different to a page
The mind stains just as easy
and the nib of a pen is just as sharp

I stopped writing 2 years ago because school and university got in the way and it would seem that I have lost my spark. I've tried my best here and I know this need a lot of work so please leave criticism and I hope I can give you something better in the future :)

I like how you equal ink to thoughts and paper to our mind.

You certainly have spark, do not worry!

I think this is great! I think that no matter how long we take from writing or any type of art we will always come back to it. We just have to keep on writing! Thank you for writing!

you're very welcome...this this an amazing write...
take care (:
I really like what you did hear. The title was a creative work of itself.
The poetry gave me a real sense you know the addiction of writing. There is, like most worthwhile undertakings, a cost and reward...
I'm glad you are writing again!
Great work.
