![]() PoisonA Poem by Rosie Brooklin
Darkness surrounds me, illuminated only by the dim light of my cell phone.
The silence is deafening, and my thoughts struggle to be heard. Why is it that when I'm sober, I feel the most intoxicated? Perhaps it is because loneliness is the deadliest poison alive, breathing through the deepest chambers of my heart, and stealing the desired air from my lungs. I wish to be love-drunk on your kiss and high on your touch, as your silk words lull me into a peaceful sleep But instead, here I lie, terrified of the nothing that surrounds me. Wishing for the man who completes me © 2018 Rosie BrooklinFeatured Review
