Why

Why

A Poem by Cadence Killday

Why,

when you fell

on the ground,

did I just try

to step

around?

Why,

when you cried

out for help

I just tried

to help

myself?

Why,

When in the

darkest night

did I

disregard our

lives?

Why,

are questions

like these

even asked?

These haunting

thoughts will always

last.
