Lovers

Lovers

A Poem by rubie

lovers

did you know that lovers

make the mountains rise up

sift the sands that form the desert

fill the seas with deep blue waters

and wring tears from stormy clouds?

did you know that lovers

grow the vibrant sunsets

create the silence in sacred moments

make the ghosts of time laugh

and say which way the wind blows?

did you know that lovers

glow with shimmering light

weave the fabric of cosmic dreams

paint rainbows across the skies

and illuminate the night with star shine?

did you know that lovers are magic?

What a tribute... an honor you've given to lovers! I believe, the lovers (true ones) are stupid to take life lightly & brave enough to take risks. Even this's why the legends still are treasured with empathy, compassion & love. They knew... the magic's found in love that brings happiness to life though an author claimed: "No love lost, No love found." So it made lovers wondered: "What's magic that they'd had found in love cascades?" Well, it was a magic of lovers itself that made world glowing... glistening well with time helping universe getting lost into the fathoms of peace. What a beautiful & thought provoking poetry you've pen'd up! Enjoyed reading it!

Thank you for your kind review. Yes, they do "haunt" us, sometimes in pleasant ways.....
I really love this piece and the worldly language you use, it makes me wonder why love is defeated so often when its portrayed so pure and defying here. 'Make the ghosts of time laugh and say which way the wind blows?' These lines particularly called to me, you write beautifully. Ending the piece with the rhetorical question really worked and tied it all up perfectly- well done!

Such emotive language. You have looked at love in a different perspective, one in which love reins the world. Keeping it controlled, keeping it perfect. Loved It!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Exactly right, Kelly!
Thank you for such kind praise!
and those ghosts love us, don't they? i bet they laugh also at our misfortunes at love and are probably glad they are dead and can't feel what we feel...or maybe they still do, who knows.

but yes, lovers are magic...i like this idea...ironically...we love...and notice all that is beautiful around us and then think we caused it.

Oh, these lines are truly lovely my dear rubie. A mesmerizing account of the attributes of lovers.

my personal favorite line is:
create the silence in sacred moments -- there is so much packed in there, and such serene feelings beaming from this line.

adorable write!! :D
